Paradise Island
Bahamas, North America No Comments »Formerly known as Hog Island, this island in the Bahamas was bought by Huntington Hartford, the A&P Supermarket heir and renamed to Paradise Island. Paradise Island is located just off shore of Nassau, the capital city of the Bahamas. The island is connected to the island of New Providence (where Nassau is located) via 2 bridges across the Nassau Harbour.
Since its opening in 1962, Paradise Island has become the famous tourist attraction not only in the Bahamas, but also across the Atlantic Ocean. Paradise Island boasts stunning beaches where you can dip yourself in the turquoise blue waters. If you are a golf lover, the island has great golf courses overlooking the ocean. Perhaps you may want to try your luck in the casinos of Vegas-style Atlantis Paradise Island Resort.
Overall, Paradise Island is your perfect winter getaway. On the Paradise Island, English is spoken and American dollars are on par with Bahamian dollars.
