Once described as ‘an untouched piece of art’ by the late Jacques Cousteau, the world renowned oceanographer, Sipadan Island is voted as one of the best diving spots in world by divers worldwide. Sipadan Island is Malaysia’s only oceanic island. Only 12 hectares in size, the island can be circled on foot by just 25 minutes walk. Sipadan Island was formed by living corals growing on top of an extinct volcanic core that took thousands of years to develop.

Sipadan Island is truly a scuba diving paradise. Approximately 30 feet from the beach, you reach the water’s edge having a drop of more than 2,000 feet. Thus the island offers some of the best wall diving in the world. Sipadan Island also boasts of being one of the richest marine habitats in the world. Surrounded by crystal clear waters, marine life such as turtles, barracudas, manta rays, eagle rays, hammerhead sharks and whale sharks are commonly spotted here.
