It gets its name from the Latin word, Provincia, which means province, as Provence was one of the first areas conquered by Rome Empire outside of Italy. Provence is bound by the Alps and Italy to the east and the Rhone River to the west, with the Mediterranean Sea providing its southern border.
Many remains from the Roman times can be seen in Provence. It is a region where you can find the perfect blending between modern and ancient civilizations. The sky is so blue with fresh and relaxing air. In summer, the area pays homage to lavender. These lavenders not only smell great, but also look sensational. It is definitely the place you can find plenty of inspirations.
